Brain Injury

Brain injury can disrupt the subtle connections between eye and brain. And not just one part of the brain: many areas including the vestibular system, limbic system, cerebellum and the autonomic nervous system et al.

Post concussion syndrome can create an array of symptoms, no two patients are alike. Light sensitivity, reading and cognitive factors, spatial judgements, headaches and dizziness to name a few.

Most patients get better on their own in the course of time, others can suffer ongoing, debilitating symptoms. Binocular vision problems, more often than not, do not show up on an MRI or a CT scan. Vision therapy can be considered in the case of binocular vision problems.

Patients can present with other health issues that can affect brain function including migraines, eye injury, whiplash, concussion, auto immunity or post viral syndromes.
